New Book: Ismailism and Islam in Modern South Asia
This book explores the evolution of a Shia Ismaili identity and crucial aspects of the historical forces that conditioned the development of the Muslim modern in late colonial South Asia. It traces the legal process that, since the 1860s, recast a Shia Imami identity for the Ismailis, and explicates the public career of Imam Aga Khan III amid heightened religious internationalism since the late nineteenth century, the age of 'religious internationals'.

The potential of Khōjā Studies is to bring together diverse scholars, to create a network for cooperation, and create a new culture of open-access and team work. My hope is that this and future conferences will inspire young scholars to critically think about local heritage, pursue the humanities as a public good, provide legitimacy for the study of vernacular cultures, and create a network of scholars that can change a culture of exclusivity and hierarchical compartmentalization of information

La commission électorale a rendu publique ses statistiques pour l'année 2017 cette semaine et le constat est le même. D'année en année le nombre d'électeurs à Maurice chute. De 2016 à ce jour il y a eu une baisse de 4 016 électeurs dans les 21 circonscriptions de la République (20 à Maurice+ 1 Rodrigues).
